Jennifer Margolis Marquez joined Newman & Marquez, P.A. in 2004 as a civil litigator. Ms. Marquez has extensive experience prosecuting commercial and consumer debt cases, representing creditors’ rights in both State and Federal Courts. She is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court Southern District of Florida, and the United States District Court Middle District of Florida.
Ms. Marquez earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. She graduated cum laude, was a member of the Inter-American Law Review and held positions as Staff Editor and Symposium Editor. Ms. Marquez received her Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. She is a past recipient of a Marin Perry Merit Scholarship and, at graduation, was awarded the Sarah T. Hughes Award for Academic Excellence in Politics and Public Policy and the Lee Snyder Lovett ‘33 prize.
Ms. Marquez is a member of the Florida Creditor Bar Association.
Saudia Simmons joined Newman & Marquez, P.A. in 2015 as a civil litigator. Prior to 2015, Ms. Simmons served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami Dade County. Ms. Simmons is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Simmons earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College.
The founder of our firm, David E. Newman, is a graduate of the University of Florida. Mr. Newman earned his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University. He previously held membership in The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys and is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union.
